Societies without sophisticated packaging typically lose 45% their food, for example, before it reaches consumers. Food is precious and there must be awareness of it. All our plastic products can be recycled and many of them could be reused.
There is no other packaging material that performs quite like plastic – nothing so versatile, lightweight and cost-effective. Metal takes large amounts of energy to create and recycle, while wood and cardboard need to be replaced more frequently. Plastic is recyclable, lasts longer, it's lighter and more hygienic.
Through technological advances and clever design, the average weight of plastic packaging has reduced by more than 20% over the past decade. Our challenge as a packaging producer is to continue to create innovative and effective products for customers by using fewer raw materials and less energy. At VECOM, we exercise zero waste policy.
At VECOM, we reduce carbon footprint by using sustainable energy sources. By doing so, for more than 15 years, we are aware of responsibility to give something back to the community in which we operate. We heat our offices and shop floor by bio fuel and doing so, we help our community in big autumn field clean up.
Water is precious and we at VECOM are saving it by using technical water from our own weld in all our technological processes. For us, drinking water is really only drinking water.
Using SME (Smart Energy Management), we are aiming to reduce energy used to produce a final product and this is one of our main goals.
At VECOM we are aware that future of our planet is in our hands and we are aware of the fact that many of materials we use do not come from renewable resources. This is why we at VECOM change small habits in order to reach big goals.
